Revolutionizing Chronic Skin Care With Laser Technology: A Clinical Perspective With Karan Lal, DO, MS, FAAD
Dr. Karan Lal explores how lasers improve eczema, psoriasis, and vitiligo care through personalized, combination-based dermatologic treatment strategies.
In this comprehensive Dermatology Times video series, board-certified dermatologist Karan Lal, DO, MS, FAAD, explores how laser and light-based technologies are reshaping the treatment landscape for chronic inflammatory skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and vitiligo.
Dr. Lal discusses how targeted laser therapy reduces inflammation, boosts melanin production in vitiligo, and supports skin barrier repair through precise light exposure. He then shares how treatment plans should be adapted to individual patient variables—including access to care, financial considerations, and motivation—to improve adherence and results. The final segment highlights the clinical value of combination therapies, showing how lasers work synergistically with topicals, biologics, and phototherapy to manage complex and treatment-resistant cases.
